Cozy Bungalow

BIRMINGHAM, MICHIGAN

Builder: Templeton Building Company Architect: Glenda Meads Square Footage: 1,500

The homeowners wanted to turn a suburban bungalow into a three-bedroom home for visiting guests and their blended family. So upstairs, we added bright white shiplap, washed the walls in soft blue hues, and added textural elements – like hand-printed taupe and champagne wallpaper – to act as a comforting complement to the morning light. And downstairs, we set out to make the space feel cozy and collected over time – with vintage oushak rugs, antique Belgian piano stools and warm woven textures like natural raffia.
