Maritime Getaway

GROSSE POINTE FARMS, MICHIGAN

Builder: The Blake Company Architect: The Blake Company Square Footage: 3,513

More at home on water than on land, our clients wanted a nautical feel for their traditional two-story remodel. To incorporate maritime charm into the renovation, we used rich, wide plank walnut floors, white vertical shiplap, and rugs with custom leather borders throughout. And in each room, we selected furnishings befitting a Captain that felt both elegant and warm – with creamy linen couches, comforting gray plaids, and beautiful walnut bed frames.

View of a living room through an arched doorway. Nautical theme with wooden floors and beige furniture.
View of a side table set in an entry way that holds bar glasses and books. Walls are a white shiplap.
Room bedroom with shiplap walls and ceiling, a large wooden bed with floral and white linens, large bright french doors that lead out to a garden.
Entertaining space with a lot of windows and doors, dark wood floors, bright white cabinets and walls. Includes a modern kitchen and living space, marble countertops.
Dark bathroom with brown wall paper featuring a vanity with marble countertops, a circular mirror with wooden frame, and dark wood drawers.

Marianne was able to really reimagine the space – from a dated 80s teardown to a beautiful, light-filled build.
